Our Market

The Farmers' Market in the picturesque Village Square and St Mary's Church of Elham is held as a special Food & Craft Festival event twice a year: Christmas and Summer.
Our SUMMER Food & Craft Festival is on Sunday, 12 June, 11am - 2pm in Elham Square and St Mary’s Church, so please put the date in your diaries. This market coincides with Elham Open Gardens weekend and with our Jubilee Scarecrow competition.
You’ll be welcomed into the village by our characterful scarecrows and heralded by a joyous peal of bells from the Church Bellringers.
We have lots of great traders lined up selling a variety of cheeses, olives and samosas, Kentish Cobnuts, jams and preserves, pies, cakes, vegetarian and vegan fare, herb butters, as well as garden plants and shrubs and handmade crafts and gifts.
The Chancel Cafe in the Church will be selling delicious soups and sandwiches, teas, coffees and soft drinks.
The theme for the scarecrow competition is Jubilee, in honour of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee being celebrated the weekend before our market. Make sure to take time to stroll around the village to view the scarecrows, any time from 22 May or on market day,  when the winners will be announced.
Market, scarecrows, open gardens, Elham will be a must see destination >on Sunday 12 June
We hope to see you there!

Local News & Links

After the market, make sure to visit one of our friendly pubs for some refreshments (the Kings Arms, the Rose & Crown or the Abbot's Fireside), stop for a cuppa in the Cosy Tea Rooms, or enjoy a walk through this historic village with its many listed buildings.

The market offers a selection of locally produced fruit and vegetables (some organic), eggs, cheese, fresh meat (organic), game, bread, cakes and pies, honey, jams, pickles, and wine. This selection varies according to season and availability.
The Farmers' Market is a not-for profit organisation run by a committee of volunteers representing different organisations in Elham. The Elham community is directly involved through the Friends Association, while Elham Gardeners have one stall where they sell their own fruit and veg, cut flowers, herbs, jams and more, all produced in the village.
