Our Market
A popular fledgling Farmers' Market, started in response to the impact of the pandemic, is flourishing at Ashburnam Place, near Battle.
Due to its popularity and growing number of stallholders, the market has moved into Ashburnam Place's stunning 7-acre walled garden. The walled garden was designed in the 1700's by renowned garden designer Lancelot 'Capability' Brown and is now a working kitchen garden demonstrating and providing training in zero-till agriculture methods.
With its ancient 14 foot walls, fruit orchard and ornate water fountain, the garden creates a magical setting for the market. With a focus on artisanal, local, ethical and sustainable products there are a wide range of local cheese, meats, fish and chocolate through to honey, preserves, pottery, cut flowers and candles.
