Cranbrook Farmers Market & The Fat Carrot Café
The market runs every fourth Saturday 9.30- 1.00 (3rd Saturday in December) at the historic Grade II listed Vestry Hall, on the corner of The High Street and Stone Street, Cranbrook.
At the heart of the community the aim of the market is to support local producers, and provide a Café area for local people and visitors to stop and chat. The Café serves tea/ coffee, cake and light meals.
The market has an average of 14 stalls plus a rolling program of guest stallholders.
Available at the market: vegetables, plants, eggs, honey, chutneys, jams, nut butters & marmalade, vegetarian/ vegan meals, soups, cakes, chocolate, coffee, meats. NB vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available. Plus regular & guest craft stalls including: wool craft, cards, natural cosmetics/ body products, soap, art, rag rugs, silver jewellery, ceramics, candles, wood crafts, children's gifts & books.
The market offers on free stall per month to a charity or community stall and has a community information table. To apply please email the market manager.
The market sits next to the beautiful St Dunstan's Church, the building, often referred to as the 'Cathedral of the Weald', dates back over 500 years and is an impressive landmark for a small country market town. Cranbrook is surrounded by orchards and farmland. It has many lovely and unique shops and resident artists. Worth a visit is the Union Windmill a grade 1 listed windmill run by volunteers. Cranbrook also has its own museum and is close to the National Trust property Sissinghurst Castle.
